The answer is quite simple if you compare the quality between a real German honey and a discounter honey, because a lot of work goes into a jar of honey. From me and much more from the bees themselves.

Also, bees are not as easy to keep as you might think.

With each new colony of bees come many things that I need for the nurturing and the bees for their survival.

These include the house, sugar syrup for the winter, sheets of wax for the comb, and sometimes even the queens themselves.

So if you buy a jar of honey, you are financing the running costs of extracting and packaging the honey.

But of course also the health and care of the bees and thus the environment.
